I just finished putting together an audio product focusing on list building but automated list building that anyone can do

I know it’s a catch-phrase, but if you’re not building a list you’re not building a business and/or income. It’s always been my notion that your list is your biggest asset as an online entrepreneur, but there are other assets that are almost as important, too; websites that build those lists.

My method for automated list building is simple in concept and simple in implementation, too. The reason I never have to rely on ad swaps, affiliate programs, jv mailings or anything like that to build my list is because I like doing two things at once, building up low-medium-high traffic assets that build my list for me, but also make money from those who don’t want to join the email list and just want to be RSS readers of blogs.

One part of my automated list building system that pay special attention to is list building via giveaway events. The reason for that is many times these new subscribers are harder to reach, and less value to me as a list owner, but there’s a very specific way you have to go about treating these newly acquired subscribers versus subscribers acquired by other means.

But what about miche marketers who are not in the “IM” niche?

How can you build a list of subscribers on each and every site you own, automatically, on autopilot while your sites and your emails make you an income?

That’s what this extremely under-priced course covers in great detail

I’m by no means one of those list-building gurus, but I can tell you this:

My list grows daily and I haven’t done much to make that happen in the last year or so, or so it seems since I don’t spend too much time dedicated to that purpose, foolish as that may seem…

Here’s one thing I’ve realized over the course of the last year or so:

Traffic solves everything…

Get traffic to a blog like this one and you get RSS readership AND email subscribers, too.

If you have other means of passive list-building you should try to incorporate as many of those as you can into your business plan so you don’t have to be worried about your list size all the time.

Affiliate programs works wonders for listbuilding, too.

All you have to do here is have an exit popup on your site so if a visitor doesn’t want to buy just yet, you offer them a freebie of some kind in exchange for an email address.

This helps your affilaites make more sales, which makes them want to send more traffic to your sites, and you don’t have to do much here except have a good exit popup and follow up series of messages.

Another passive way of building your list is article marketing….

Article marketing is so cool….

You get traffic from your articles, plus backlinks and this can evolve into a steady stream of traffic once you have enough of them in play.

I know that the giveaway events are truly the fastest way to get a lot of subscribers and I admit I have been remiss in that area…

But this can be considered passive list-building too once you have a great gift lined up and ready to promote…

Ad swaps with other marketers is probably the best kind of list-building you can do because you’re dealing with like-minded people ( other marketers) who have more like-minded people ( home business types) on their list who want to see what you have to offer them…

This is a semi-passive list-building technique because you have to expend some effort to find those like-minded marketers then schedule a mailing date and write a specific email for that ad swap.

Co-registration methods…

I used to use Get Response’s co-reg method for list building but the quality subscribers weren’t there really, but you can do hybrid versions of co-registration by adding ad swap type emails into your followup series of email messages, and ask that other marketers do the same for you.

These are some of the methods I’ve used to keep my list at its current size for the past year ( over 5000) and if time allows I’ll give it some proper attention…

However, if you want to build up other areas of your business, using any or all of these passive list-building methods will keep your list new, fresh, and active even with all the un-subscribes you’ll eventually get…

Here’s a pretty good trick that nobody is teaching.

This can be used to build a list instantly, once all the infrastructure pieces are in place.

A common issue that keeps coming up is that people don’t have a centralized place to manage their list. One reason for this is that a lot of “newbies” are using the autoresponder their affiliate program provided them. Many marketers are using fr-ee autoresponders or other autoresponders besides Aweber and Get Response..
They all learn their lesson and get Aweber or Get Response.
OK, on to the cool tip about how to make past mistakes work for you.

You joined a bunch of programs, and have downlines in those programs.
Those downlines can only be reached via the back office of your affiliate program’s autoresponder.
You are going to send an email to those downlines telling them about 2 great reports you just read.
They will have to go to a squeeze page and get on your list in order to get those reports.

Here are 2 reports you could give them to use.
http://firsthandreviews.com/toptenmistakes.pdf
http://firsthandreviews.com/yournamehere.pdf
Most new marketers don’t have their own autoresponder and don’t know the first thing about how to capture leads for themselves.
When you join other programs, you’re losing access to those hard-earned downlines because they’re in the company’s back
office, not yours.

What if you could get those subscribers back? Wouldn’t that be great?

I’m about to show you how…
By the way, the IM Toolkit has a video that shows you EXACTLY how to do this.
But first, let’s cover one more scenario…
Have you ever purchased an autoresponder at a special price and it came with some other product you purchased?
Most likely those autoresponders aren’t working too well for you right now,and aren’t delivering over 50% of your mail.

The 2 best autoresponder companies for new and intermediate marketers are Aweber and Get Response.
If you’re using anything but these 2 programs, I recommend you move your list over to either of these companies.
Here’s how to get your list “out” of your abandoned program and into your new Aweber list that you will always control.

It’s really very simple.

Step 1- Get a real autoresponder, either Aweber or Get Response.

Step 2- Create a new list for the soon-to-be recovered subscribers.

Step 3- Create a squeeze page opt-in form. It’s real easy to do, and if you need help both of these companies have Live Chat Customer Support to help you do everything. The headline for your optin form should be..(no quotes)
“Get your fr-ee report here”, a line for name, email address, and on the Submit line, just put “Yes, I want my Fr-ee report”

Step 4- Write the text for the squeeze page that goes above the optin box.
Here is an example of what you could write http://firsthandreviews.com/topten
Just copy the TEXT, the words off that page, and use it as the words for your squeeze page. You’re basically making a
copy of my squeeze page, and making it your own.
This may be the toughest part for some of you. It can be done using just Notepad and/or Miscrosoft Word.

Step 5- Once you’ve created the squeeze page, you need to upload it to your website. Again, there is help available from your
web-hosting companies. They will help you do the upload.

Step 6- Almost there. Now log in to all your autoresponders and send them an email saying something like, (no quotes)
“Hi, it’s YOURNAME HERE, check out this report I came across that really helped me. You should check it out”
and in that email, you have a clickable link to the squeeze page you created. Those downlines, or long-forgotten
subscribers, go to your squeeze page and opt in to get the fr-ee report.
You have now successfully moved some of your list over into a quality autoresponder.
If you ever quit that program, those leads will still be on your list as long as they don’t unsubscribe.

Both of these reports can be given away to accomplish this…
http://firsthandreviews.com/toptenmistakes.pdf
http://firsthandreviews.com/yournamehere.pdf

After you get people to get to that squeeze page and they opt in to your list, send them the first follow-up message.
The first follow up message should be short and sweet…(no quotes)

HEADLINE–Use the firstname code here (looks like !firstname)
Headline: !firstname, here is your fr-ee report
Line 1– !firstname, here is your fr-ee report.
Say something good about the report here, then leave a link.
Example link (you can give away this report if you want)
http://firsthandreviews.com/toptenmistakes.pdf

And you’re done…
I call this my instant list builder. Or my secret instant list recovery tactic.
Call it whatever you want, but it works, and you need to do this if you want to do things right in this business.
